Jaguars' Travis Hunter Undergoes Season-Ending LCL Surgery, Six-Month Return Target

The team projects a six-month recovery following an isolated LCL repair with no other knee damage.

Overview

  • Hunter suffered a non-contact right-knee injury during an Oct. 30 practice and had been on injured reserve.
  • Tuesday’s surgery in Dallas repaired the lateral collateral ligament, performed by Dr. Dan Cooper with Jaguars team physician Dr. Kevin Kaplan.
  • The Jaguars said the injury was confined to the LCL with no additional knee damage, and they expect him to resume full football activities in about six months.
  • Before the injury, the No. 2 pick played both ways, totaling 28 catches for 298 yards and one touchdown and adding 15 tackles and three pass breakups while logging 67% of offensive snaps and 36% on defense.
  • Jacksonville, now 5-4, acquired Jakobi Meyers after the injury and is leaning on Parker Washington and others to absorb snaps as it continues without Hunter.
