Jaguars’ Travis Hunter Has Season-Ending LCL Surgery, Out Six Months

Jacksonville says the rookie’s right-knee injury was an isolated LCL tear with no other damage, projecting a return to full football activities within six months.

Overview

  • Tuesday’s procedure in Dallas was performed by Dr. Dan Cooper and Jaguars team physician Dr. Kevin Kaplan, the team announced.
  • Hunter sustained a non-contact right-knee injury in an Oct. 30 practice and was placed on injured reserve the next day.
  • Initial reports noted an intact ACL and suggested a shorter absence, but further evaluation led to season-ending surgery.
  • To offset his absence, Jacksonville traded for wide receiver Jakobi Meyers and has redistributed snaps to Parker Washington and others.
  • In seven games, the No. 2 pick recorded 28 catches for 298 yards and one touchdown and added 15 tackles and three pass breakups while playing 67% of offensive snaps and 36% on defense.
