Overview

• The crash occurred just before 5 pm on July 17 at the junction of Lentons Lane and Shilton Lane when a Jaguar and a VW van collided, sending the Jaguar into a nearby house.
• A 78-year-old occupant was taken to University Hospital Coventry and died on July 18 from injuries sustained in the impact.
• A second female resident suffered serious injuries and remains hospitalised, while both vehicle drivers escaped with minor injuries and have since been discharged.
• West Midlands Police has questioned both drivers, kept roads around Lentons, Woodway and Shilton Lanes closed, and is appealing for dashcam, CCTV or other footage via 101 quoting log 4184.
• Fire crews secured the damaged section of the property for structural stability as West Midlands Ambulance Service and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance treated casualties at the scene.
