Jacob deGrom Undergoes Tommy John Surgery, Expected to Miss Remainder of Season

Jacob deGrom had reconstructive surgery to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow.
The surgery was performed by Rangers team physician Dr. Keith Meister and went well.
DeGrom is expected to miss at least 12 to 14 months recovering from the procedure.
DeGrom signed a five-year, $185 million contract with the Texas Rangers this past offseason.
DeGrom's contract contains options for a potential sixth season with the club worth between $20 to $37 million depending on performance incentives.
