Overview

• Version 1.1.1 ensures interoperability between iOS and Android clients following a critical bugfix.
• Bitchat Mesh uses Bluetooth Low Energy to form peer-to-peer networks that can extend message range up to around 300 metres via device relays.
• The app creates anonymous accounts without requiring phone numbers or email and secures chats with end-to-end encryption plus a panic mode to wipe all data.
• Its source code is openly available on GitHub under an open-source license for community inspection and development.
• Multimedia messaging, persistent chat history and features such as read receipts remain under development.
