Jack Black to Play Steve in Upcoming 'Minecraft' Movie

Production set to begin in New Zealand for the film, slated for an April 4, 2025 release.

Actor Jack Black has been cast in the upcoming live-action adaptation of the popular video game 'Minecraft', where he will reportedly play the character Steve.
The movie, backed by Warner Bros. and Legendary, will also star Jason Momoa, Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks, and Sebastian Eugene Hansen.
Production is set to begin soon in New Zealand, with the film slated for release on April 4, 2025.
The plot of the movie is currently under wraps, with writing credits still being determined.
Black recently voiced the character Bowser in the highly successful 'The Super Mario Bros. Movie' and is also set to star in the upcoming 'Borderlands' film.
