The Super Mario Bros. Movie was the second biggest movie of 2023, grossing over $1.3 billion worldwide, but there has been no official announcement about a sequel yet.
Black's vision for the sequel is a full musical, inspired by rumors about the direction of Joker 2.
Black also contributed to the original movie's soundtrack, developing the hit song 'Peaches' from a 30-second idea.
