IUCN Regional Conservation Forum Kicks Off in Ottawa

The forum aims to unite conservation efforts, evaluate progress, and shape future strategies for biodiversity protection in Canada and globally.

The event, themed 'Uniting Conservation Actions-Canada and Global,' is being held at the Canadian Museum of Nature from October 1-2, 2024.
More than 100 representatives, including IUCN Members, CCIUCN Members, and partners, are attending both in-person and virtually.
Key discussions will focus on aligning actions with Canada's National Biodiversity Strategy and empowering Indigenous Peoples in land stewardship.
Interactive workshops will cover topics such as Nature-based Education, Habitat Protection Legislation, and Nature-based Solutions for Climate Adaptation.
Outcomes from the forum will influence the global agenda at the IUCN World Conservation Congress in Abu Dhabi in October 2025.
