Overview
- Press screenings and Q&A events took place in early September, confirming the completed five‑part series is finished and is being marketed ahead of a 2026 broadcast.
- Luke Evans stars as Martin Gilmour and serves as an executive producer after championing the project during lockdown and helping bring it to World Productions.
- Sarah Solemani adapted and created the series for ITV and also appears on screen as Martin’s wife, with Tom Cullen, Lindsay Duncan, Douglas Hodge, Joanna Scanlan and Lydia Leonard in the supporting cast.
- Producers moved the story from the book’s Cotswolds setting to Wales for creative reasons and to draw on Evans’s roots, with financing and production support from Creative Wales and the Welsh Government.
- ITV has not formally confirmed a premiere date though WalesOnline reports an October launch, and the project completes nearly a decade of development since the novel’s 2017 publication.
