Overview

  • Beginning January 2026, Emmerdale and Coronation Street will air back-to-back Monday to Friday in a new soaps power hour with half-hour Emmerdale at 8 pm followed by Coronation Street at 8:30 pm on ITV1.
  • The crossover will run for a full hour and feature an “ambitious stunt” that producers say ingeniously links the shows’ Manchester and Yorkshire universes with enduring repercussions.
  • Viewers can vote for one character from each soap to share a scene, with polling set to open on Coronation Street and Emmerdale social channels in June.
  • Actor Jack P Shepherd has hinted at David Platt’s involvement in the special but has not confirmed his participation.
  • Episodes of both soaps will premiere on ITVX at 7 am on weekdays ahead of their evening broadcasts.
