ITV Overhauls Daytime Lineup as Over 220 Staff Face Redundancies

Overview

  • ITV will cut Lorraine and Loose Women to 30 weeks per year from January 2026, with Good Morning Britain extended until 9:30 am on regular days and to 10 am when Lorraine is off air.
  • Production teams for Lorraine, Loose Women and This Morning will be consolidated and moved to a new Covent Garden studio operated by ITV Studios in partnership with ITN.
  • More than 220 behind-the-scenes roles are under review for redundancy as employees await final decisions ahead of the schedule change.
  • Loose Women panellist Coleen Nolan has called the overhaul “devastating,” warning that crew members with young families and mortgages are living in limbo.
  • Savings from the daytime revamp will be redirected toward high-value programming, including premium dramas, sports coverage such as the FIFA World Cup and expanded news output.
