Overview

  • RFI has activated more than 1,200 simultaneous PNRR and maintenance sites on Italy’s rail network, a record level of summer works.
  • FS’s updated August 11–17 schedule extends MilanRome high-speed journeys to as long as 4 hours 50 minutes, reflecting a 100-minute increase.
  • Key corridors will see slower services elsewhere, including 60-minute delays on MilanBologna, 40-minute on Florence–Rome and 90-minute on Verona–Vicenza.
  • Ticket prices remain unchanged and FS will list revised travel times directly on passenger invoices to ensure transparency.
  • Consumer association Assoutenti is urging government and FS officials to deploy a dedicated national fund to compensate travelers for the prolonged delays.
