The triumph marks Italy’s fifth Billie Jean King Cup title and their first since 2013, redeeming last year’s loss to Canada in the final.
Jasmine Paolini, ranked world No. 4, capped a career-defining year that included Grand Slam finals at Roland Garros and Wimbledon, an Olympic gold medal in doubles, and a WTA 1000 title in Dubai.
