Overview

  • The interministerial decree establishing the 2025 social card has been signed and is under review by the Court of Auditors before official publication.
  • A €500 prepaid card will be automatically allocated to about 1.1 million households with an ISEE up to €15,000, prioritizing larger families and excluding those receiving other benefits.
  • Card funds can only be spent on food and essential grocery items, excluding fuel purchases and public transport subscriptions for the first time to manage budget constraints.
  • Once published, INPS has 30 days to draft beneficiary lists and municipalities another 30 days to validate them before Poste Italiane begins distribution.
  • Cardholders may qualify for an extra 15% discount at participating retailers if the Ministry of Agriculture’s protocol is renewed.
