Overview

  • Industry Minister Adolfo Urso announced on May 27 that a new backer will uphold La Perla’s luxury brand and keep its Bologna production site fully operational.
  • All 210 employees across La Perla Manufacturing, La Perla Management and La Perla Italia will retain their roles and an additional 40 positions will be created.
  • The 1954-founded company was driven into financial and judicial turmoil under the Anglo-Dutch fund Tennor before the government-led intervention.
  • Italian commissioners, court-appointed curators, English liquidators and MIMIT officials collaborated to devise the industrial solution behind the turnaround.
  • The chosen investor’s identity and detailed industrial commitments will be unveiled at a formal presentation scheduled for June 10.
