Overview
- Service is disrupted from 9 p.m. Thursday to 6 p.m. Friday in a national walkout called by SGB and the PdM/PdB assembly, affecting FS Group staff across passenger and freight operations including Trenitalia, Trenitalia Tper, Trenord and Italo.
- Operators have published lists of guaranteed medium- and long‑distance trains, while regional services observe legally mandated peak windows, generally 06:00–09:00 and 18:00–21:00 on weekdays.
- Trenord warns of impacts on suburban, regional, airport and long‑distance routes and will deploy substitute buses without intermediate stops if Malpensa Express services are canceled between Milano Cadorna and Malpensa or Stabio and Malpensa.
- Trains already in motion at the start of the strike may proceed to their final destination only if it is reachable within one hour from the start time, with possible early terminations thereafter and knock-on effects before and after the official window.
- Passengers who forgo travel can request refunds or rebook according to operator rules, including refunds up to departure for Frecce and Intercity and until 24:00 the day before for regional services.
