- The Italian Customs Agency’s July 2025 Traveler Card is available online and at all border posts to help entrants and returnees navigate Italy’s latest customs rules.
- Adults from non-EU countries may bring up to €430 worth of goods duty-free by air or sea (€300 by land), while minors under 15 have a €150 allowance.
- Travelers carrying €10,000 or more in cash or equivalent instruments must file a customs declaration form or face fines and possible confiscation.
- Companion animals—dogs, cats and ferrets—require microchipping, rabies vaccination and an EU pet passport, with additional tests or quarantine for certain third-country entries.
- Since 2021, all extra-EU online purchases are subject to VAT and can be held by customs until duties are paid prior to delivery.
