Overview

  • All regions have officially published their 2025–26 academic calendars, setting start dates from September 8 in Bolzano to September 16 in Calabria and Puglia
  • Under Italy’s school autonomy law, principals may anticipate or postpone regional start dates, prompting many Lombardy schools to shift their September 12 reopening to the 11th
  • End-of-term dates vary by region, spanning from June 6–11 in most areas to June 16 in the autonomous provinces of Bolzano and Trento
  • No bridge is planned for All Saints’ Day or Liberation Day because both fall on Saturdays, but Immaculate Conception, Labour Day and Republic Day will form multi-day breaks
  • Christmas and Easter vacations differ by region, with winter break beginning December 22–23 and classes resuming after Epiphany (up to January 7 in Sicily) and spring recess running April 2–7 (extended to April 8 in Trento)
