Overview

• Parents can now take three months of paid parental leave at 80% of their salary, an increase from two months in previous years.
• The new policy applies to children born in 2025 or those whose mandatory maternity or paternity leave ended after December 31, 2024.
• Parental leave must be used within the first six years of the child’s life or within six years of adoption or foster care placement.
• Both parents are collectively entitled to up to 10 months of parental leave within the first 12 years of the child’s life.
