Italian Museums Launch Free Dog-Sitting Services to Attract Visitors

The initiative, running until April 2026, allows dog owners to explore cultural sites while their pets are cared for by trained professionals.

The Bauadvisor dog services company has partnered with Italian museums to offer free dog-sitting at 15 major cultural sites one day each month until April 2026.
The service launched in Rome on January 12, 2025, and will expand to notable locations like the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, the Uffizi Galleries in Florence, and the National Archaeological Museum in Naples later this year.
Dog owners can book the service online, leaving their pets with trained minders who walk and feed the animals while owners visit museums stress-free.
A 2024 report revealed that a third of Italian families have pets, with nearly half of them being dogs, and many owners avoid museums to stay with their pets.
This initiative builds on Bauadvisor's existing paid dog-sitting services at 300 cultural sites across Italy, which charge €10 per hour and have proven highly popular in cities like Mantua.
