Iswarienko Challenges Court’s Power to Enforce Shannen Doherty Divorce Settlement

A new filing contends the marriage’s termination by Doherty’s death voids the family court’s authority over the posthumous deal.

Overview

  • On January 14, Kurt Iswarienko asked Los Angeles Superior Court to reject enforcement of the divorce judgment and to block a trustee substitution, arguing the court lacks jurisdiction after Doherty’s death.
  • The agreement was signed by Doherty on July 12, 2024 and by Iswarienko on July 13, then entered by the court on July 15, two days after she died.
  • Trustee Christopher Cortazzo filed on November 24 to be recognized as successor in interest so the estate can enforce the judgment against Iswarienko.
  • The estate alleges noncompliance with terms requiring the Dripping Springs, Texas home to be listed for sale by April 1, 2025 and shared net proceeds, as well as a refusal to return Doherty’s personal property.
  • Filings also claim Iswarienko withheld $50,274 from a $100,000 airplane buyout after an August 2024 hangar sale and failed to provide a required inventory and copies of photographs or account for licensing fees from works created during the marriage.
