ISSSTE Says Maintenance at Oaxaca’s ‘Presidente Benito Juárez’ Hospital Continues After Access Restored

Hemodialysis care remains scheduled without interruption during the upgrades.

Overview

  • The institute reports that work resumed after dialogue resolved a temporary occupation of some areas by a group with political demands.
  • Crews have carried out 36 maintenance actions, including waterproofing, masonry, plumbing, painting, electrical fittings and partitions across emergency, outpatient, inpatient, laboratory, X‑ray, pharmacy and other units.
  • In the hemodialysis room, workers are replacing floor finishes, repairing walls and applying antibacterial paint to enhance patient safety.
  • Supervisory walk‑throughs continue to identify additional repairs to ensure reliable service for more than 436,000 beneficiaries in the region.
  • ISSSTE cites broader investment in Oaxaca, including a new Regional High Specialty Hospital in San Lorenzo Cacaotepec and upgrades to UMFs in Asunción Nochixtlán, Huautla de Jiménez, Guelatao and San Pedro Tapanatepec, serving about 1.7 million people.
