ISSF Backs November Debut of India’s Franchise Shooting League with eSports Integration

The strategic partnership aims to captivate gaming audiences through eSports integration, with revamped formats set for trial at the Doha World Cup Final

  • ISSF and the National Rifle Association of India have confirmed more than 70 international shooters and 400–500 domestic athletes for the Shooting League of India launching in November.
  • NRAI President Kalikesh Singh Deo, appointed interim chair of the ISSF Committee on eSports and Innovations, has secured eSports features to tap into a 450–500 million–strong gamer audience.
  • The ISSF plans to test a new television- and spectator-friendly Olympic shooting format at the Doha World Cup Final, increasing shotgun finalists from six to eight and rapid-fire finalists from four to eight.
  • India has secured hosting rights for four ISSF events through 2028, including a junior World Cup in 2025, Asian Pistol and Rifle Championships in 2026, an all-format quota World Cup in 2027 and a junior World Championship in 2028.
  • ISSF President Luciano Rossi emphasized India’s status as the sport’s biggest growth market in Asia and endorsed the Shooting League of India as key to preserving shooting in future multi-sport programmes.
