- Rae completed the 26.2-mile race in just under four hours and 17 minutes, according to her Instagram post.
- In a post-finish video, she said, “I can’t believe I did that… Why did I do that? I didn’t have to do that,” while wearing her medal.
- She apologized to a fan who asked for a photo right after the race and thanked a friend for inspiring her to enter as well as her husband, Louis Diame.
- Organizers said more than 11,800 runners took part in the 53rd annual event, which also featured a half marathon, 10K and kids run.
- Race officials named Jared Bassett the men’s winner (under 2:29), Luciana Lenth the women’s winner (just over 2:53) and Eliezer Vasquez the gender-expansive champion (3:06), with the course passing landmarks such as Tom McCall Waterfront Park, the Pearl District and Reed College.
