Overview
- CMS-03, at about 4,400 kg, will be the heaviest communication satellite India has launched toward geosynchronous transfer orbit.
- The satellite is designed to support Indian Navy operations with secure voice, data and video links across the Indian Ocean Region.
- Next-generation payloads in C, extended-C and Ku bands will extend communication services over wide oceanic areas and the Indian landmass.
- ISRO says the LVM3-M5 and spacecraft are integrated and were rolled to the Satish Dhawan Space Centre launch pad on October 26 for pre-launch operations.
- The flight is the LVM3’s fifth operational mission after carrying Chandrayaan-3, and ISRO will stream the launch live on YouTube with registration available via its viewing gallery.
