ISRO Sets Jan. 12 PSLV-C62 Return-to-Flight With EOS-N1 ‘Anvesha’ and 18 Rideshare Payloads

The mission seeks to restore confidence in the PSLV after the late-2025 C61 failure.

Overview

  • Liftoff is scheduled for January 12 at 10:17 AM IST from the First Launch Pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.
  • The launch is ISRO’s first orbital mission of 2026 and is framed as the PSLV’s return to service following the reported C61 failure.
  • The rocket will fly in the PSLV-DL configuration with two strap-on boosters, carrying EOS-N1 (Anvesha), an Earth-observation satellite reported to feature hyperspectral imaging.
  • Co-passengers include OrbitAID’s AayulSAT for on-orbit refuelling trials, MOI-1 by TakeMe2Space and EON Space with AI-enabled imaging, the Indo-Mauritius Joint Satellite, and Orbital Paradigm’s Kestrel Initial Demonstrator reentry capsule.
  • ISRO says the public can register on its website to watch the launch from the Sriharikota viewing gallery.
