Overview
- ISRO has released Level-3C products from the orbiter’s L-band DFSAR mapping of the Moon’s poles.
- The datasets cover 80°–90° latitudes in both hemispheres at 25-metre resolution, built from roughly 1,400 observations collected since 2019.
- Algorithms developed at ISRO’s Space Applications Centre produced parameters including CPR, SERD, T-Ratio and polarimetric decomposition components.
- ISRO says the maps highlight areas with radar signatures consistent with possible water-ice and quantify surface roughness and dielectric properties.
- Data are downloadable via the PRADAN portal at ISSDC and viewable through CH2 MapBrowse to support landing-site selection and polar science.
