ISRO Opens Recruitment for 176 Scientist/Engineer 'SC' Posts

Closing September 16, 2026, the online-only drive will choose candidates through an equally weighted computer-based test plus a personal interview.

Overview

  • The Indian Space Research Organisation is inviting online applications for 176 Group 'A' Scientist/Engineer 'SC' vacancies in Electronics, Mechanical and Computer Science, with Electronics holding the largest share.
  • Candidates must hold a BE/BTech or equivalent in the relevant discipline, have at least 65% marks or a 6.84 CGPA on a 10-point scale, and meet the upper age limit of 28 years as of September 16, 2026 with standard relaxations for eligible categories.
  • Applications must be submitted only via the ISRO recruitment portal by September 16, 2026 at 11:55 pm and require an application fee of Rs 250 plus an initial processing fee of Rs 750 which is subject to refund rules.
  • The written test will be a computer-based exam in 37 cities and has two parts: Part A with 80 discipline MCQs in 90 minutes with negative marking and Part B with up to 15 aptitude questions in 30 minutes with no negative marking.
  • Shortlisting for interview will follow a 1:5 ratio based on the written test, the interview will carry 100 marks, and final selection will combine written-test and interview scores equally to fill the Level 10 pay-scale posts.
