Overview
- The shooting that left Netanel Yehonatan Shalabia dead took place Sunday at the Ein Rayah (Neba) spring near Neve Tzuf while he was visiting ahead of Yom Kippur.
- Magen David Adom teams found the man unconscious in his vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds, gave emergency care and evacuated him to Beilinson Hospital where he later died.
- The IDF says the attacker fired from a passing vehicle, exited while armed and fled on foot, triggering a large manhunt that includes the Binyamin Brigade, the Duvdevan commando unit, drones and roadblocks.
- About an hour later near the Ganim post in northern Samaria, soldiers stopped an attempted ramming attack, killing one attacker and arresting a second, according to military reports.
- The incidents add to a months-long rise in West Bank violence and have led to village closures, heavier patrols and concern that the pattern of near-simultaneous attacks could heighten tensions and disrupt local movement.
