Israeli Hostage Hamza Al-Zayadna's Death Confirmed Following Recovery of Remains

Hamza Al-Zayadna, 22, was confirmed dead after his remains were identified by Israeli authorities; his father Youssef's body was recovered earlier this week from a tunnel in Gaza.
Both father and son were abducted during Hamas' October 7, 2023, attack on Israel, which killed over 1,200 people and sparked ongoing conflict.
Two younger siblings of the Al-Zayadna family, also kidnapped during the attack, were released during a brief ceasefire in November 2023.
The Israeli military reports 94 hostages remain in Gaza, with 60 believed alive and 34 declared dead; negotiations for their release have resumed in Qatar.
