Overview

  • The Israeli military struck Hodeidah port on July 21, destroying engineering vehicles, fuel tanks, rebuilt docks and naval vessels used by Houthi forces.
  • Israel says the raids aimed to halt reconstruction of terror infrastructure that it alleges has been used to transfer weapons from Iran.
  • Defence Minister Israel Katz warned that Yemen would suffer the same fate as Tehran after the Houthis launched missiles toward Israel.
  • Houthi-run Al Masirah TV and a security official confirmed the air raids and reported destruction of recently rebuilt port facilities.
  • The strikes are the latest phase of Israel’s year-long campaign against Houthi positions in response to their missile and maritime attacks since October 2023.
