Israel Says It Killed Hamas Nukhba Commander Linked to Sufa Outpost Attack

Israeli authorities say the strike was aimed at degrading Hamas command and disrupting hostage-holding, with parallel West Bank raids targeting illegal weapons production.

Overview

  • The Israel Defense Forces and Israel Security Agency announced they killed Muhammad Mahmoud Marshad Al-Qadi, whom they called a Nukhba company commander tied to the Oct. 7 Sufa outpost infiltration.
  • Israeli statements said Al-Qadi led training of fighters, worked to rebuild Hamas’s operational capabilities and took part in holding Israeli hostages, and that he was targeted to remove an ongoing threat.
  • In a separate 48-hour operation in the Nablus area, Israeli troops said they destroyed more than 30 machines used to make weapons, seized firearms and ammunition, and detained over 10 suspects.
  • Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the operations and said Israel will continue active measures across Judea and Samaria, Gaza and Lebanon to thwart terrorism.
  • Public accounts of the strikes and raids come from Israeli military and intelligence statements with limited independent verification, and officials say Southern Command forces remain deployed in southern Gaza after the strike.
