Overview
- As of August 14, the outbreak has produced 526 confirmed measles cases with 209 still active
- Nineteen children under six remain hospitalized, including two in intensive care and one on ECMO
- Both recently deceased toddlers were unvaccinated, and one had been on ECMO support for several weeks
- Most new cases are clustered in Jerusalem, Beit Shemesh and Bnei Brak and hospitalization rates suggest many infections go undetected
- The Health Ministry has revised immunization guidance to give a second MMR dose earlier in high-risk areas and to offer an additional dose to infants aged six to 12 months
