Overview

  • IDF’s 9th and 300th Brigades carried out targeted ground incursions in Labbouneh and Jabal Blat to destroy multiple weapons storage sites, including a multi-barrel rocket launcher, heavy machine gun and an underground depot.
  • The military said the raids were driven by intelligence pinpointing Hezbollah infrastructure to prevent the group’s reestablishment south of the Litani River.
  • These ground forays mark another near-daily breach of the US-France-brokered ceasefire that halted more than a year of cross-border fighting in November 2024.
  • Israel has retained strategic posts inside southern Lebanon despite the truce and has not clarified whether this was its first ground operation since the ceasefire.
  • The raids follow a pattern of frequent airstrikes in Lebanon that have resulted in civilian casualties and damage to residential areas near the border.
