Overview

  • Israel closed its airspace on June 13 after exchanging strikes with Iran, leaving tens of thousands of citizens abroad when scheduled flights were canceled.
  • The phased evacuation operation, named “Safe Return,” is guided by security assessments to ensure the safety of passengers, crew and aircraft.
  • El Al, Arkia and Israir have scheduled repatriation flights from Larnaca, Athens, Rome, Milan and Paris, while Mano Maritime is operating ship crossings from Cyprus to Haifa.
  • More than 50,000 Israelis have registered for return, and up to 40,000 foreign tourists in Israel remain unable to depart due to the ongoing flight ban.
  • Iran has launched over 400 ballistic missiles since June 13, targeting areas around Tel Aviv and causing at least 24 fatalities.
