Overview
- Iran has launched more than 370 ballistic missiles and hundreds of drones at Israeli cities since mid-June, with about 95 percent intercepted but over 30 penetrating defences to hit residential districts in Tel Aviv, Haifa and Petah Tikva.
- At least 24 Israelis have been killed and nearly 600 wounded by the Iranian barrages, including four who died when a bunker in Petah Tikva was directly struck.
- Israel has conducted multiple waves of airstrikes on missile and drone sites in western Iran, killing senior commanders such as Ali Shadmani and targeting infrastructure including the state broadcaster in Tehran.
- Thousands of Tehran residents have fled under Israeli bombardment without dedicated shelters, and hundreds of Israeli families have been evacuated from homes deemed unsafe after missile impacts.
- The conflict has exposed gaps in Israel’s multilayered defence systems, drawn criticism from rights groups over vague evacuation orders and heightened international concern about further escalation.
