ISPR Releases Anthem Honoring Martyrs After Cross-Border Fighting

The release coincides with a temporary ceasefire, with Pakistan and Afghanistan due to meet in Istanbul on October 25.

Overview

  • ISPR published “Qaum kay Shaheedo Tumhen Salam,” performed by Malik Sanan with lyrics by Ahmed Freed.
  • The military described the song as a tribute to fallen soldiers and a salute to innocent women and children killed in violence.
  • The release follows recent clashes in which, according to ISPR, Pakistani forces killed more than 200 militants and 23 soldiers were martyred.
  • Delegations met in Doha on October 16 and agreed an immediate 48-hour ceasefire that was later extended through October 18, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced on X.
  • Dar said delegations will reconvene in Istanbul on October 25 for further discussions.
