After arriving on July 24, Díaz will formalize a multi-season contract with Club León once his legal registration is complete. He is set to join Eduardo Berizzo’s squad immediately and is scheduled to make his first appearance in León’s Leagues Cup opener on July 29. Díaz captured the 2025 Gold Cup Golden Boot and ranked among the leading scorers for Universidad Católica in Ecuador and in this year’s Copa Sudamericana. The 28-year-old forward began his career at Tauro FC, developed further at Porto B in Portugal and emerged as a CONCACAF standout before moving to Mexico. Known for his pace on the wings, precise diagonal runs and capacity to play across the front line, Díaz enters Liga MX in what Blas Pérez calls the prime of his career and a key test of his potential.
