Overview

• Police said the sole survivor, a man in his 30s airlifted to University Hospital Southampton, is now in stable condition.
• Three people who died were identified as Justyna Czoska, 52, and Wojciech (Wojtek) Kowalkowski, 49, both from Banbury, and Simon Hewitt, 54, from Barton-upon-Humber.
• The helicopter was a Robinson R44 II, registration G-OCLV, operated by Northumbria Helicopters and owned by Adventure 001 Ltd, departing Sandown Airport for a flying lesson.
• Emergency services mounted a multi‑agency response, one patient was airlifted, and a major incident declared to coordinate the effort was later stood down.
• AAIB and police inquiries continue with the coroner, scene work is expected to conclude today, and no cause has been determined.
