Overview
- Pumping through the Iraq–Turkey pipeline to Ceyhan is scheduled to begin at 6 a.m. Saturday, officials said.
- The agreed quantity is 240,000 barrels per day, with 180,000–190,000 barrels exported and about 50,000 barrels used within the Kurdish region.
- Iraq’s State Oil Marketing Organization said companies operating in Kurdistan will receive $16 per barrel to cover production and transportation costs.
- The restart follows a tripartite pact between Iraq’s Oil Ministry, the KRG’s natural resources ministry, and international operators after flows were halted in March 2023 by an arbitration ruling.
- DNO said it was instructed to prepare for the resumption via the Iraq–Turkey pipeline, the U.S. welcomed the deal, and Iraq plans talks with Ankara on renewing an export agreement that runs to July 2026.
