Iranian National with Terrorism Ties Deported to Canada After Unlawful US Entry Attempts

- The man first tried to enter the US on Oct. 10 via the Rainbow Bridge Pedestrian Walkway in Niagara Falls, but was turned away by US border authorities.
- He was arrested two days later after unlawfully entering the US via the Whirlpool Bridge Port of Entry in Niagara Falls.
- In 2023, US authorities encountered 564 individuals whose names appeared on the terror watchlist at the northern and southern borders, of which 172 successfully crossed illegally into the US.
