Iran, Saudi Arabia and China Reaffirm Rapprochement at Tehran Talks

Overview

  • The third trilateral committee convened in Tehran on December 9–10 with Majid Takht-Ravanchi, Waleed Al-Khuraiji and Miao Deyu in attendance.
  • Iran and Saudi Arabia pledged full implementation of the Beijing Agreement and closer neighborly relations in line with international law.
  • China said it stands ready to keep supporting and encouraging steps that deepen Iran–Saudi cooperation through the joint committee.
  • The three sides called for an immediate halt to Israeli attacks in Palestine, Lebanon and Syria and condemned violations of Iran's sovereignty.
  • They endorsed a United Nations–supervised inclusive political solution in Yemen and highlighted consular progress enabling more than 85,000 Iranian Hajj pilgrims and over 210,000 Umrah travelers in 2025.
