Overview

  • Iran concluded its two-day Sustainable Power 1404 naval exercise on Friday in the Sea of Oman and northern Indian Ocean, with state media releasing video of cruise missiles striking surface targets.
  • The drills featured Nasir, Qadir and Ghader anti-ship missiles launched from coastal batteries and warships including the destroyer Sabalan and the missile boat Genaveh, alongside drones and electronic warfare units.
  • Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh said Iran has produced a new generation of missiles superior to those used in June and warned they would be deployed if Israel attacks again.
  • Top adviser Yahya Rahim Safavi described the situation as a continuing stage of war and cautioned that another confrontation could erupt at any time, while Israel’s military chief Eyal Zamir said his forces are prepared to act again.
  • Iran has limited access for the IAEA as enrichment advances, and France, Germany and the UK set an August 31 deadline before triggering a snapback of U.N. sanctions if disputes remain unresolved.
