Overview

  • On June 18, the IRGC said it launched the Sejjil missile in the twelfth wave of Operation True Promise III against Israeli targets.
  • The missile struck Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba, injuring more than 30 people, according to local officials.
  • Powered by solid fuel and featuring two stages, the Sejjil can travel up to 2,000 kilometers with a 700-kilogram warhead.
  • Iran’s Sejjil program dates to the late 1990s with Chinese technical support and underwent multiple tests from 2008 to 2012.
  • Upgrades revealed during the January 2021 Great Prophet 15 exercises improved guidance systems and propulsion, enhancing its operational reliability.
