Iran Claims First Successful Test of Hypersonic Missile

Iran unveiled its first hypersonic missile named Fattah on Tuesday which is capable of traveling 15 times the speed of sound and has a range of up to 870 miles.
Iranian officials asserted that the missile's speed and manueverability allow it to evade advanced missile defense systems like the US's and Israel's Iron Dome.
The hypersonic missile was unveiled at the same time that Iran reopened diplomatic posts in Saudi Arabia, signaling a potential thaw in relations.
Western officials have not confirmed the capabilities of the new missile or whether it poses a credible threat.
The announcement comes ahead of a visit by the US Secretary of State to Saudi Arabia and other Gulf allies worried about Iran's missile programs.
