- Police say three suspects have now been arrested in connection with the theft of six boxes of high‑grade sugilite and manganese stones valued at about R14.9 million.
- The stones were taken in an alleged armed raid on a Killarney apartment on February 11, 2023, and only about R40,000 worth of material has been recovered.
