Overview
- Universidad IPETH inaugurated CRIPETH in early July as a 600-square-meter academic dental clinic funded with a reported 16 million pesos from Galileo Global Education.
- The facility began operations with seven ADEC model 300 dental units, digital radiodiagnosis, dental tomography and a centralized sterilization area with ultrasonic instrument washing.
- CRIPETH will serve more than a dozen patients daily in its initial phase, and IPETH plans to double capacity to 14 treatment units in September by adding seven more chairs.
- The clinic is designed for supervised hands-on training where dentistry students treat patients under experienced staff, with the stated aim of strengthening prevention, research and practical education.
- Officials framed the launch against high oral-disease rates—WHO estimates about 3.7 billion people worldwide have oral conditions and local officials cited up to 90–95% prevalence in Mexico—and said the clinic seeks to widen access to affordable care and improve student clinical experience.
