Overview
- The global food security monitor confirmed IPC Phase 5 conditions in el-Fasher in Darfur and in Kadugli in South Kordofan.
 - The assessment estimates about 375,000 people in Darfur and Kordofan are in famine, with another 6.3 million nationwide facing extreme hunger in Phase 4.
 - El-Fasher was seized by RSF forces last week after an 18‑month siege, with reports of hundreds killed and with supplies largely cut off.
 - Kadugli has been encircled for months, trapping tens of thousands, and Save the Children reported in September that food stocks there had been exhausted.
 - The IPC warns that 20 additional areas in Darfur and Kordofan are at risk and urges a cease-fire to halt further deterioration.
