Iowa State Extends Coach T.J. Otzelberger’s Contract Through 2032

The Cyclones’ basketball program has undergone a dramatic turnaround under Otzelberger, including multiple Sweet 16 appearances and a Big 12 title.

Iowa State coach T.J. Otzelberger has signed a contract extension through the 2031-32 season, the school announced Tuesday.
Otzelberger, 47, has led the Cyclones to three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, including two Sweet 16 runs in his first three seasons.
Under his leadership, Iowa State has achieved one of the most significant turnarounds in college basketball, improving from a two-win season in 2020-21 to 29 wins and a Big 12 Tournament title last year.
Otzelberger holds a 79-36 record with Iowa State, including 11 wins against top-10 opponents, and has reshaped the program’s culture, according to Athletic Director Jamie Pollard.
The Cyclones, currently ranked third in the nation with a 9-1 record, will face Morgan State in their next game on Sunday.
