Iowa Official's Wife Convicted of 52 Counts of Voter Fraud
Kim Phuong Taylor found guilty in scheme to secure husband's nomination in 2020 Congressional race
- Kim Phuong Taylor, the wife of Woodbury County Supervisor Jeremy Taylor, was found guilty of 52 counts of voter fraud in a scheme to help her husband secure the Republican nomination for Iowa's 4th Congressional District in 2020.
- Taylor was convicted of 26 counts of providing false information in registering and voting, three counts of fraudulent registration, and 23 counts of fraudulent voting.
- Prosecutors said Taylor, a Vietnam native, approached numerous voters of Vietnamese heritage with limited English comprehension and filled out and signed election forms and ballots on their behalf.
- Despite her efforts, Jeremy Taylor lost the primary and instead ran for Woodbury County Supervisor in the 2020 general election, a position he won.
- Kim Phuong Taylor faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison for each count.
